Protocols, Standards, and Advantages

< Back to Overview

All SIG work is based on the following standards and principles:

Strict Legality: All intelligence operations are conducted entirely within the limits of applicable US law, including the Economic Espionage Act of 1996.

Fully Licensed: SIG is licensed as an Investigations Company in its home jurisdiction by the Texas Commission on Private Security, a state government agency (license number A10774). This licensing enables SIG to conduct many kinds of investigation that would otherwise not be legally permitted, and it gives SIG access to restricted data—within the US and internationally—that is not available to unlicensed entities.

Absolute Confidentiality: SIG never reveals the names of clients unless specifically authorized to do so. Under no conditions will SIG reveal the exact nature of projects, findings, or outcomes. SIG protects all client information and findings. No findings, data, or elements of intelligence from a client are ever passed to another client.

Protection and Non-traceability: SIG works with its clients to ensure that intelligence findings have the legal protection that they need. SIG often contracts through client’s counsel to invoke attorney-client privilege for all discussions, transmissions of data, and findings.

Complete Integrity: SIG will not accept new clients or projects if there is any possibility of a direct conflict of interest with current clients or projects.

Affordability: SIG desires to create long-term client relationships and therefore strives to make every project as cost-effective as possible. SIG’s approach usually begins with the minimum necessary level of intelligence, designed to detect and expose key elements at the lowest possible cost point. SIG’s efficiency and expertise mean that additional research is often unnecessary.  When it is required, SIG employs a phased approach to maximize results and minimize cost.

Going the Extra Mile: SIG ensures that its clients receive the best intelligence product possible within budgetary limitations. SIG does not use formulaic or “check the boxes” strategies. Instead, SIG bases its work on the needs and requirements of its clients—different for every project and for every client.
