Strategic Insight Group (SIG) is a private intelligence firm serving investors, corporations, and law firms.

SIG employs a zero-based analysis in which our specialists assemble multiple data points according to tested protocols. They draw upon “open source intelligence” (OSINT) and in-country “close source human intelligence” (HUMINT), as well as upon information from highly-placed and often not-for-attribution sources. Analysis designed to discover previously undetected patterns in the data array leads to hypotheses. These hypotheses are then tested through further rounds of data collection and analysis. The zero-based analysis is intended to eliminate any prior assumptions and take nothing for granted. Our intelligence approach works inductively from the data itself, systematically resists biases, and enables us to identify discontinuity as well as continuity.

It is the opposite of conventional thinking.

Litigation Support

In preparation for trial, a law firm contracted SIG to conduct research on the opposing litigant for a lawsuit alleging fraud. During the investigation, SIG discovered that the subject, who claimed to be a medical doctor, had lied about his medical licensing credentials. The discovery provided valuable support for the case that the client was building.

Political Risk Intelligence

Following increased tensions between China and Taiwan, an investor sought intelligence on the potential for conflict and the impact that it might have on their investments and future banking in China. SIG conducted a deep dive and analyzed the potential for a future Chinese invasion, the possibility of American involvement, and the likely sanctions that would result, allowing the client to establish short and long term plans and hedge against their risk.

Market Intelligence

Seeking advice on foreign medical markets, an institutional investor contacted SIG to conduct market intelligence for potential investment opportunities. SIG narrowed the scope and performed research into telemedicine services in India, including major companies and their executive teams, market conditions, and future demographic outlook. The result was actionable intelligence for the client.
